ITALY +110 over Morocco (450/500)
As is typical for Italian teams, this side got off to a slow start in the tournament by losing to Colombia and Syria before beating Canada 4-1 in the final game of the round robin. Many had written Italy off, including myself, but this team have finally woken up as was evident in the 1st round play-off match against the USA. Up until this play-off game, the USA had not conceded a goal in the tournament even though they played perennial powerhouses like Argentina and Germany. Italy, however, was able to score 3 goals against a tough US defence through a wonderful demonstration of skill and finesse which I expect to carry through to today.
Morocco has had a decent showing at this tournament but they have not passed any real tough tests yet. Their only real test, so far, came against Spain and they lost 3-1. Morocco's 1st round play-off match was a narrow 1-0 win, in injury time over Japan, who were probably the weakest team to advance to the play-offs as Japan did not win a single match in the round robin but advanced to the play-offs on goal differential over international bottom feeders Australia and Benin.
Morocco will have a MUCH tougher time today with an Italian side that have finally found their legs.

Morocco proved to be a somewhat worthy opponent to the Italian team. I say somewhat because I still feel that we had the right side on this one:

Shots: 23-9 in favor of ITALY
Shots on Goal: 7-3 in favor of ITALY
Ball Possession: 58% in favor of ITALY

And, even though Italy were down to 10 men in extra time, they showed some real heart and managed to score forcing the game to penalty kicks.

A bit of a downturn today as Friday's picks go 1-4 (including parlays) for a net loss of 5.53 units.

That brings the total to:

9-10-2 (+5.84 UNITS)
